Brittany: Owner/Massage Therapist
**Online Booking not available
“The knee bone is connected to the thigh bone,” as the song goes. Thankfully for you, I also know what muscles and tissues are surrounding all of your bones, too, and how they all work together. Why does your neck hurt, and could it be a possible reason you’ve been getting searing migraines? Do you have an old injury that feels like you’ve only been treating the surface of the problem, and want to delve deeper into a potential root cause?
Then it’s a good thing you’ve found this page.
My name is Brittany Dawson, and I am the owner of Simply Therapeutic LLC in Vienna, Virginia. With a Bachelor’s degree in exercise and wellness, and a history examining the body up close and personal on cadavers, I have an understanding of the human body’s inner workings most massage therapists don’t get. My specialty is deep tissue massage and muscle stripping, so if you’re looking for a massage that focuses on prevention as well as overall care, I’m your gal.
Sure, I can give you a relaxing massage that sends you off to a lullaby whenever you want a day to treat-yo-self, but my primary focus is working with clients who are committed to self-care as a means of routine preemptive care. I want to make sure you stay healthy and loose so we can prevent injuries, instead of seeing you after an injury has already occurred. If you have already found yourself in a pretzel, I’ll help you get untangled, and then we can put a plan together so it doesn’t happen again.
“I was recommended to Brittany through my chiropractor. My chiropractor was having a hard time adjusting me. The chiropractor said my muscles were really tense and that I should see a massage therapist to help with my pain. [...] I told her where the sore spots were but she was also able to feel where the tension in my body lies. Brittany did her thing. I was [in] pain after the session which is completely normal. The pain was a result of her working the tensions out of my body. The next morning I woke up feeling a lot better. She is extremely good at getting through the root cause of the problem. She really knows her craft and does it well. [...]” – Karen T.
When we work together (and I make it a point to work with you; not just assume things), we will go over your history, assess any current problem areas, and make a plan that incorporates any other treatments you’re receiving, whether it’s a primary care physician, physical therapist, or chiropractor. I like to tackle problems holistically, but also with a greater overall understanding of any prior treatments so we’re not doing anything blind.
Massage therapy is like any other form of therapy, and should be used as a tool in your toolbox to help navigate any problem areas you may have. It won’t cure everything (I wish!), but it’ll certainly help a whole lot, especially when you work with an expressive massage therapist like myself. If you’d like to schedule an appointment or see what kind of massages we offer, be sure to check out our Service Descriptions, or email us here. I look forward to working with you soon!
Jessica: Acupuncturist
Close your eyes. Now breathe deeply into your belly. Hold that breath for five counts. Now slowly breathe out through your mouth.
Relaxing isn’t it?
My name is Jessica Cubas, and I specialize in therapeutic treatment encompassing a variety of methods dependent on my client, and what their specific needs are. I began in healthcare as a certified Massage Therapist in 2008, then acquired my Bachelor’s of Nursing in 2013, and later enhanced my knowledge with a Master’s of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in 2018 after studying at Oregon College of Oriental Medicine (OCOM) and New England School of Acupuncture (NESA). All of that to say, I don’t believe there’s a one-size-fits-all when it comes to bodywork.
When I work with my clients, my greatest hope is to not only provide you with comfort and pain-free results, but I like keeping an open line of communication so we can build a relationship that’s based in trust. Ongoing treatments can be comprehensive, so it’s best to make sure you’re at ease while we focus on any issues or concerns you may have.
My style of bodywork isn’t just acupuncture. I like incorporating other modalities, such as cupping, Gua Sha, electrical stimulation, Chinese Herbal remedies, among other techniques. I like being proactive with my clients so they don’t find themselves in a painful situation, but I also know that’s not how life always works out. If you do find yourself with acute musculoskeletal pain, we can remedy the immediate issue, while planning for the future.
And so, let’s plan for that future. I believe it looks like you, relaxed, and working towards being a more balanced person. If you’re interested in working with me, please send an email here, and we’ll get you scheduled as soon as possible.
Alejandro: Massage Therapist
Let me guess, your back is in knots, your shoulders are tense, and you’re looking for a straightforward solution that doesn’t sugarcoat its results? Or you have a painful knot in your lower back that keeps you awake at night and painkillers just aren’t doing what they mention on the bottle?
That’s what I thought, and it’s okay. We all need a helping hand, as it were, to get us back to feeling like ourselves.
My name is Alejandro Becksosa, and I am one of Simply Therapeutic’s all-star massage therapists who focuses primarily on medium/deep pressure and sports massage. I trained at the Northern Virginia School of Therapeutic Massage where I was able to transfer my love of restoring balance to the body into a progressive skill that helps my clients be the best version of themselves.
My clients tend to be people who workout, or pre/post natal women, but I mostly work with people who are committed to enhancing their overall wellbeing. Massage therapy isn’t a one-and-done deal; it’s a long-term commitment that addresses old tensions, and new tensions, and we work together to make sure that discomfort is alleviated.
One of the main reasons why I love working at Simply Therapeutic is because we develop trusted relationships with our clients, and there’s a clear understanding that massage therapy is holistically integrated into our clients’ lives. It’s the kind of self-care that isn’t pre-packaged with sparkles and B.S., but you really are taking the time to care…for yourself. And we all need that to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
I look forward to continuing this conversation, and hope to work with you soon. If you’re interested in working together please send an email here, and we’ll get a time on the calendar.
